Bzzzz....

"I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee...." Since Avery started Wee School, that is a song heard often in the Garvin household. As Halloween time rolled around this year, we were not surprised when Avery wanted to be a little Bumble Bee!

She was dressed and ready to go, but wasn't too fond of having to wait to go "Chuck uh Cheat". I made the mistake of getting her ready a little too early....but she waited patiently and entertained herself by making faces in the window and playing with Ivan.

Starting to grow impatient....inched her way out to the sidewalk!

Fall swings in...

I recently took this at the Fall PWS picnic. Every Fall, the Spradlin family opens up their beautiful farm and home to the PWS families in Georgia. This year, the weather was a little dreary....perfect for photographing!

It's Fall Ya'll!

Ah, Fall. My favorite time of year! The briskness in the air and the leaves start turning those beautiful fall shades. A couple weeks ago on a beautiful, fall afternoon, I grabbed my camera to capture some of these beautiful seasonal landscapes......my subject became the usual suspect in most of my photos these days.

If I had planned a little better we could have put on a cute Fall outfit, but by the time we were done with the shoot, she was covered in dried leaves and somehow she found a patch of mud....that's my girl! Wait, no it's not! Is this the girl who can't stand the texture of grass or sand on her feet, won't use her hands to push herself up off the ground and asks me to wipe dirt off her hands every two minutes? Guess I caught her on a good day! She loved playing in the yard and "posing" for the camera.

I think this is where she found the obscure mud patch....

Well look who decided to join us! For those who know our dog, Ivan and his mental issues (he was a rescue), you know how hard it is to get him to sit for more than a second anywhere near Avery. I had to snap these as quick as I could because I knew it wouldn't last long! For at least three minutes he realized she could serve some use to him and soaked up some lovin'.

You'll probably never see that again!

Hi my name is....

'Hi, my name is Michelle and I have a photo problem'. Ever since I was a child, I loved taking pictures! Whether it was with my mom's Polaroid or my 35mm point-and-shoot (you know, the long skinny one with the manual dial that wound the film to the next frame....ah, the good ol' 80's), I was always shooting rolls and rolls of film. I'm sure my mom wished the digital age had come about much sooner!

Early into our marriage, Tripp asked me a random (or so I thought) question. "What is a hobby that you have always wanted to take up?" I immediately replied. "Photography!" That Christmas, "Santa" left my first SLR camera, a Nikon N60 under the tree! Again, I took rolls and rolls of film, but it wasn't until our daughter, Avery was born that my passion truly took off! It seemed I constantly had my camera attached to my hand! At this point, the digital age had hit and I "upgraded" my SLR to a dSLR.....bye-bye film, hello thousands of pictures!

Avery - 22 months

Literally, I have thousands of pictures of this little sweet pea! I constantly have family and friends asking to see my new pictures of Avery....thus the birth of this blog. Welcome to Making Memories with the Garvins!
